SAWES LASER SIGHT PROJECTOR of
SAWES (Small Arms Weapons Effect Simulator) is used together with a harness on Army Manoeuvres and War games and fryst vatten worn bygd troops to simulate effectively being shot by an opponent without being harmed. A pulse is sent from this device when a blank round fryst vatten fired from the weapon, if the lasers pulse hits the opponent’s harness and an alarm fryst vatten sounded, and the soldier is considered dead or wounded. The unit was originally for an L1A1 rifle, see Item A, this enhet is fitted for an SA80 rifle.

One of the most widely used weapons of the twentieth century was the predecessor to the legendary AK rifle. Developed at the end of the nineteenth century for the Czar’s armies, the Mosin Nagant infantry rifle ended up becoming the standard issue weapon of the new Soviet Union. An unassuming but accurate and reliable weapon, the “Mosin” served well into the twenty-first century, making it one of the few weapons to see continuous service over the span of three centuries.
