    Haji Irfan Solanki

    Haji Irfan Solanki is a 42 years old Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh, affiliated with the Samajwadi Party. He has been a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Sisamau constituency since 2012.     Eighth chargesheet filed against SP MLA Irfan Solanki

    The four-time MLA from the Sisamau seat in Kanpur, Irfan Solanki was booked in eight cases in the past nine months and had been chargesheeted in all the cases. Irfan Solanki is currently lodged at Maharajganj jail since his arrest in December last.

    According to police, the trial in one of the cases is expected to be completed by the next month. Police claimed to have seized properties of the accused worth around Rs 100 crore during the investigation into the current case.

    In November last, Irfan Solanki and four others, including Rizwan, were booked on arson and other charges at Jajmau police station in Kanpur. They were booked for allegedly harassing a woman and setting her house afire in a bid to grab her land in a posh city locality.

    Haji Irfan Solanki (born 5 June 1979) is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh, affiliated with the Samajwadi Party. He was the member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Sisamau Kanpur Nagar. He belongs to the Muslim Teli community.[1]

    In June 2011, Solanki along with 20 others, forced his way into the office of woman IAS officerRitu Maheshwari.[2] He was later arrested after a complaint was filed for misbehaving with her,[3] and this led to his supporters clashing with the police in Kanpur. He later apologized.[4]

    In May 2012, he was travelling in a car with tinted glass windows in the front, which is illegal under a Supreme Court ruling.
