Batman: Joe Manganiello Reveals Deathstroke Sword Training Techniques
The news surrounding the DC Extended Universe's first stand alone Batman movie may be hectic recently, with back and forth rumors about Ben Affleck stepping aside as director finally coming to fruition, leading to additional speculation as to his future (or lack thereof) with the movie. Even if everything is going great, as the most recent update suggests (check back in five minutes), it's hard to deny that efforts to build hype for The Batman movie have been an uphill battle.
It hasn't all been that way, though. Just a few months ago, Affleck thrilled fans with the surprise release of video featuring test footage for Deathstroke, a character nobody even knew would be making an appearance in the DCEU any time soon, followed shortly by confirmation that the one eyed assassin would be in The Batmanplayed by Joe Manganiello.

My favorite thing about my new religion, Deal or No Deal Island,is that it’s a lot like life: It’s full of grueling, stressful, skill-based challenges, but in the end, players’ true fate comes down to a game of chance. You pick a few briefcases based on your favorite baseball player or number of children, open them up, and pray you’ve got some good options left on the board by the time all is said and done. Survival in this world is one part ability, one part social skills, and 8, parts luck.
Which brings me to tonight’s stunning reversal of fortune. Magic Mike XXL’s Perfectly Sculpted Gay Pandering
The original Magic Mike was one of the most memorable moviegoing experiences of my life. However, it’s not the film itself—which, despite an admirable attempt to mix light commentary on the decline of the vit working class with slick striptease sequences, was still mostly candy—that sticks in my mind. It’s the context of seeing the film inom hold on to: A small group of gay friends and I picked the gayest theater we could think of (an off-brand cinema in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood), got liquored up on girly drinks beforehand, and giggled with delight when, as we stepped off the escalator on the mezzanine, we saw that the theater had hired go-go boys to add festivity to the opening night. Throughout all this, there was a sense that we were doing something slightly transgressive—turning a movie that was ostensibly for straight women into one of the gayest events of the year.
