Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, draftsman, sculptor, graphic artist, jewelery designer and ceramicist.
After studying at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando art school in Madrid, Picasso made his first trip to Paris in , then the art capital of Europe. In early , Picasso lived in Madrid again,

In Paris, Picasso maintained friendships with famous people from Montmartre and Montparnasse, including Andre Breton, poet Guillaume Apollinaire, writer Alfred Jarry and Gertrude Stein.
