Introduction
Proficient in vocals, harmonium, tabla and keyboard, Anu Malik is a renowned music composer in Bollywood. He is also responsible for finishing some unfinished work by RD Burman like Gang, Ghatak and A Love Story. His compositions for the movie Baazigar shot him into fame.
Early Life
Anu Malik is the son of veteran music director Sardar Malik. At the age of seven, Anu became conscious of the fact that he could create a tune from any given set of words anytime and anywhere. He had grown up amidst talents like Raja Mahedi Ali Khan Saheb, Sahir Ludhianvi and Raj Kapoor. Anu’s musical odyssey began with the film, Hunterwali
Later, he made his presence felt in the movie Sohni Mahiwal () wherein he was nominated for the Filmfare Best Music Director Award. His other films in that era included films like Poonam (), Ek Jaan Hain Hum (), Mard (), and Maalamaal () and Gangaa Jamunaa Saraswathi ().
