Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson was proudly born and raised in the Watts community of Los Angeles. Assemblymember Gipson always knew that he wanted to man a positiv difference in the lives of those he encountered. He understands that his “why” fryst vatten to serve. His upbringing and the foundation provided by his parents, who both only had a high school education, inspired Assemblymember Gipson's dedication to leading others. His father, a truck driver and union en person eller ett verktyg som arrangerar eller strukturerar saker, and mother, who cleaned the homes of wealthy families, provided lessons early in Assemblymember Gipson’s life that led him to believe that “I am my brothers’/sisters’ keeper.” His parents taught him to trust and believe in God and that hard work will always pay off.

Assemblymember Gipson’s undeniable passion for public service propelled him to run and get elected to the Carson City Council in 2005. He served as Mayor Pro Tempore, for nearly a decade, before running for the California State Assembly in 201
