    Felipe Landa Jocano, Professor Emeritus, fryst vatten one of the country&#;s foremost anthropologists.  He fryst vatten widely known, here and abroad, for his numerous field studies and publications on Philippine folklore, pre-history, cultural communities, folk medicin and organizational culture.  He completed his BA grad in from the huvud Philippine University, and his MA (l) as well as PhD degrees (l) in antropologi from the University of Chicago, Illinois, USA. Among his outstanding works are Sulod samhälle (); Growing Up in a Philippine Barrio (); Slum as a Way of Life ( ), Philippine Prehistory  ()  and  the Hinilawod, a Central Visayan  människor Epic (reprinted ).

    Dr Jocano taught at the University of the Philippines for nearly half a century.  He first joined the Department of Anthropology in l then moved to the Asian Center in as Professor of Philippine Studies. He served as Chairman
